What does she confess? Wordless Wednesday

To mark one year since my mother’s death, I’m posting a Wordless Wednesday picture.

Black and white picture of glamorous young 1940s woman

The ‘girl announcer’

This is the original photo, published in various Australian newspapers and captioned ‘A Girl Announcer’s Confessions’. Because it’s Wordless Wednesday I can’t tell you any more. But come back soon to find out what the secret is…

About rebelhand

A Rebel Hand is: about Nicholas Delaney, Irish rebel of 1798, transported as a convict to New South Wales, roadbuilder, innkeeper and farmer. My great-great-great grandfather. Other ancestors transported to Australia, like Sarah Marshall, John Simpson and James Thomas Richards, pop up as well. This blog's also about the historical background to their lives, in England, Ireland, and Australia. My respectable Welsh ancestors sometimes get a look in.

Thanks, Pauleen. The answer was to be today… but Trove’s got a power outage (I should have finished it earlier, but there we are) so it’ll have to be next Trove Tuesday.

  5. Intriguing…a beautiful lady, I can’t wait to hear more!

Sincere condolences, Frances. Sending lots of xxx and healing energy.
Now, focussing on the picture and my first thought is what a beautiful face… is that your mum?
hmmm… I’m now thinking that whatever it is that she’s “confessing” it is a bit of a beat up but she’s playing along with the game and, at the same time, thinking that it’s all rather ridiculous… ??? 😀
