In seeing your post I was reminded that my dearly loved Nana was the last (nee) Delaney in our line also. She passed in 1990 at the age of 91 but was so full of stories of growing up in Australia’s early days. I still miss her so my sympathies go out to you .

Maria, thank you for your kind words and your thoughts. It was my Mum who got me started on my own genie journey down under and it was wonderful exploring our family’s past together.

Heartfelt hugs of comfort, Frances… may you always be wrapped in the quilt of memories that you and your beloved mother pieced together. Take the time to be kind to yourself, for you never really say goodbye, just au revoir… My mother passed away 30 years ago and I still think of her every day… secure in her undying love.

Blessings to you and your family, and especially to you for giving her that gift of writing a book together. My mother so enjoyed the days that we spent putting together a book of the houses in which she lived as a child, so I can only imagine the joy that you brought to your mother in writing a book together. Again, blessings.

Thank you, Joan. It means so much to me that we did that together and that her passion for family history was passed on to me. I can see you understand that shared bond of making our mothers’ past come to life. It is a huge comfort to me now.

My very sincere condolences on the loss of your Mum Frances. We always know it will be hard to say goodbye to our Mums but we never realize just how heart-wrenching it is. I lost my Mum only 3 months ago on April 23rd. Mums are special. Sending hugs your way.
